POETRY

This is a collection of student work from the 2020 Fall semester poetry class at Redwood High School in Marin, California. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we were unable to be together in a classroom. As a result, we felt the challenges of social isolation. This desire for connection has never felt more necessary than today. Through poetry we found our voices, shared glimmers of ourselves with each other, and celebrated the light that is in all of us, even during the darkest days. For many of the students, this was their first attempt at writing poetry; some have said it is now their favorite form of expression. We hope you enjoy our poetry.
