“TO THOSE FROM ELEMENTARY,” FROM THE OUTCAST!

If I said I was from the small island of Hispaniola,

where life is always difficult,

but freedom is something we all have,

Would you know where I’m from?

If I said that the move from a  third world country

to a diverse, technologically-advanced, economically balanced one -

having to forget about traditions and the way one  lived

In order to fit in,  was a very difficult experience -

Could you relate?

If said that I sat at a wooden table

paper, pen and brain at hand

Finding  myself unable

To understand this very strange lexicon  -

Would you help?

Yes we might be close now,

but, did you know how I felt then?

I observed, I listened, and I even tried to differentiate

between the voice patterns and the moods of y’all.

In those times I felt like I didn’t belong.

I struggled to understand what was going on,

You struggled to vibe to this poor little song

An outcast!

That’s how I felt. Don't worry

I'm not blaming you or showing any sign of resentment

But rather, I just want you to look at how long I’ve sanged.

It's been almost 10 years, dang!

To those from elementary, Thank you

For if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have improved

and probably wouldn’t have lasted.

Once again, thank you!

From yours truly,

The Outcast.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD POEM

Numerous meanings hidden by well selected words and rhyming makes up for a good poem. And to make it even better I believe that a poem which gives positive and useful advice about life to others are the best.

HURRY

by Randoll Bellevue

Randoll Bellevue: Work

Can we just hurry,

To the next year.

So we can get rid of our

Quarantine fears.

Can we just hurry,

And stop all the killing.

Try to understand

How Everyone!! is feeling.

NO

Matter the color of your skin,

We are all humans right?!!

So why can't we let it sink in,

That RACISM shouldn’t be a thing.

Can we just hurry,

And end all the nonsense.

“You want a vaccine,

Just chug Mr. Clean”

Or

“Is a cure out of reach?

Fumigate your lungs with bleach.”

More than 150,000 Dead,

Oh well vote for Trump, he said.

Can we just hurry,

And elect someone new already?

Whether its for equality, or for a vaccine

I'm tired of waiting for something to change,

So can we just hurry it up.

F*&#% 2020 man,

Is it ever gonna end

EVENING STROLL

By Randoll Bellevue

Their colors now spent

As autumn takes its toll

Trees once so vibrant

Are changing with fall

The autumn breeze carries fine drops,

each one a promise of the rain to come.

It carries with it the fragrance of the Earth.

Although the smoke wasn’t worth it.

I saw caterpillar sleep inside of its cocoon,

Like a baby wrapped in its blanket.

Soon to crawl out with wings of deep sapphire blue

And take its first flight.

Furry and brown

See them on trees or on the ground

They live in nest, but I’ve always wondered

How would it be like to have them as pets?

As I go on this evening stroll

I see nature at its finest.

Where its not disturbed

By human pollution.
